Thought-provoking, engaging, and poignant, Iscariot by Tosca Lee takes you on a heart-wrenching journey through the human frailty and brokenness of history’s most infamous villain, Judas. It is a compelling page-turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat, wanting to know more. It shines a spotlight on Judas’ devastating loss and trauma in his childhood, the tragedy and adversity that plagued his adulthood, the intricacies of his life that transpired in between, and the disappointment and discouragement that followed him everywhere he went in his never-ending pursuit of finding the true Messiah. Iscariot makes you feel like you’re peering through Judas’ eyes and somehow experiencing life in his shoes. It is eye-opening as the story of Judas unfolds, and the light of Jesus is illuminated as He accomplishes the mission that He came to earth to fulfill.

Tosca Lee is a masterful storyteller, drawing on the curiosity of the reader. She brings the story to life in a thrilling way with the research and historical elements to back it up. The thoughtful and imaginative style of this book created pictures and scenes in my head that played out as an attention-grabbing movie, page after page. I didn’t want to put the book down. There were some wow moments and some humbling moments. This book grips you by the heart and stirs you to look inside to ensure that you are fully submitted to Christ, and any moment that you find yourself seeking your agenda over His, you quickly repent and submit to God’s will even when you don’t understand.
