Author Biography

I’m a South African living in London. I’ve spent most of my adult life in the entertainment industry singing, performing in shows, and playing guitar. I also have a (very) limited acting portfolio. My original music album, It’s About Time, is available on most streaming platforms.

As an eight-year-old, I cried when Han Solo was encased in carbonite. But it didn’t stop me from demanding my folks take me to see Return of the Jedi. I love the otherworldliness of Sci-Fi. Perhaps because I genuinely don't understand this one.

Moirai is my debut novel. I’m hoping it transports you to the same fun place I experienced writing it.

Moirai: Destiny is Murder by Kieran Rennie is sci-fi at its best. Josh O’Gara is on the run, his life at stake, but although the streets are recognizable, they are not the same as they used to be. He has no recollection of life before the chase, and he can’t outrun his pursuers. Dr. Nicole Einbach is a particle physicist, the best in her field, but she is driven by more than science. Her destiny calls to her, and she discovers morality plays no part in it. She is about to make an incredibly important discovery, and O’Gara is critical to the endgame. It doesn’t matter whether he lives or dies; he is a crucial part of Nicole’s destiny. Can she fulfill it? Can Josh survive his ordeal?

Morai: Destiny is Murder by Kieran Rennie is one of the best sci-fi thrillers I have ever had the pleasure of reading. It is a futuristic story with plenty of action, part science fiction and part psychological thriller. The characters are really well developed, growing throughout the story to become people you can easily relate to and who fit the story’s context perfectly. This book is aimed at adults and is a taut, edge-of-your-seat story, well-paced with a dynamic flow that keeps you reading from start to finish. It is a serious story with a ton of twists and turns, but has its humorous moments to lighten things up a little. I hope there is more to come, and I highly recommend this to anyone who loves sci-fi and thrillers.

Moirai: Destiny is Murder is a work of fiction penned by author Kieran Rennie in the science fiction, adventure, and thriller subgenres. It is best suited to the general adult reading audience. Readers are invited to explore a gripping and intense sci-fi thriller that combines elements of mystery, action, and the existential exploration of destiny. Our protagonist is Joshua O'Gara, who finds himself in a nightmarish situation where he is running for his life through familiar yet unsettling city streets. The narrative weaves a complex web of intrigue as Joshua grapples with lost memories, an ominous chase, and a destiny that holds the key to a groundbreaking scientific discovery. The tension builds as the characters are drawn together, leading to a revelation that could change the course of humanity.

Author Kieran Rennie has crafted an intense novel packed with thrills, spills, and some highly original twists on the cat-and-mouse style dynamics of modern action stories. Rennie's writing keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, most especially where the dialogue and exposition of the plot really have a chance to shine. It’s easy to see how the characters are authentically shaped by the world in which they live, with realistic attitudes and dynamics developing from their experiences and the trials that the fast-paced plot puts them through. This pacing, coupled with atmospheric world-building and descriptive scenes, offers a thrilling experience as we race toward that all-important underlying question of how far one would go to fulfill one's destiny. Overall, I would certainly recommend Moirai as a compelling and thought-provoking journey into the unknown for fans of science fiction and psychological thrillers everywhere.

Science fiction author Kieran Rennie's Moirai: Destiny is Murder is a gripping read. Joshua O'Gara, with no memory of how he got to the center of town in Geneva, is running for his life through well-known yet eerie city streets. Dr. Nicole Eienbach is an exceptionally talented particle physicist, but her motivation comes from something much stronger than her special grasp of the universe. Joshua has the secret to enable Nicole to make the most important discovery in human history, which she is about to uncover. Nicole requires Joshua as a target, to serve as a point of reference and a bridge connecting the two worlds. After completing the calculations, Nicole programs Joshua into her devices and sends him through a wormhole to a parallel world where he can exist in both worlds simultaneously.

Moirai: Destiny is Murder by Kieran Rennie was complex and unique. It was an exhilarating journey across parallel worlds and a compelling story that kept me interested to the very end. The sci-fi plot deftly combines aspects of suspense, techno-thriller, and page-turning fiction. It was fast-paced and jam-packed with action, and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. With detailed backgrounds and descriptions, the characters were compellingly brought to life. I found Joshua and his role in Nicole's accomplishment to be particularly fascinating. Joshua's battle with alcoholism and addiction was expertly handled, and the story was masterfully written. This story's exceptional characters and intricate plot, which takes place in both Earth and a parallel world, made me truly enjoy reading it.
