How To Read More Books

Our lives have become quite hectic. As a result, people don’t get much time to spend reading. But, it might not be that tough to increase the number of books you read. Whether you want to increase the number of books you read or do better than before, these tips will give you some ideas. So here are some tips on how to read more:

Set a goal:

Setting a goal is the first step to increasing your number. This will help you keep track of your reading habits. It will motivate you to read more as you complete each one. Remember not to go overboard with goal setting. It might work opposite and make you demotivated when you’re not able to complete one.

A reading nook:

The anatomy of a reading nook is quite simple. You just need a cozy place where you can relax and read to your heart’s content. Use a comfy sofa in front of the window, add some throw pillows, light some candles and decorate it with fairy lights. You can decorate it in any way you want. What matters is the comfort and peace it will bring. Keep your preferred beverage closer to you, and you are good to go.

Read different genres:

The best way not to get bored with reading is to branch out your reading tastes. Alternating the genres is a good way to get over a book hangover. Sometimes, while reading the same genre, we tend to mix up stories and plot lines. And, after a while, our mind makes a convoluted mess of all the stories we might have read. Switching genres helps tackle these problems. It keeps your reading palate happy with different tastes.

Audiobooks to the rescues:

Audiobooks are a great way to increase your reading time. You can listen to an audiobook while you cook, clean, or do some other chores. You can even listen to audiobooks on your daily commute or even when you are in the gym sweating it out. They are a great way to utilize your walking time. Audiobooks might seem daunting at first, but they are easier to get into. You can start with a short story or novella to test the format.

Make reading your habit:

Integrating your reading into your daily routine is much easier. You can read for fifteen minutes before going to sleep or even after waking up. Instead of scrolling through social media, you can scroll through some reading apps to get new recommendations. There are several apps like Goodreads, Libby, and Wattpad. You can join an online book club. People with similar tastes will motivate you to read more. You can even carry a book around with you. That way, you can read whenever you get free time. You can also get a book subscription. They always have a curated list of books, and it will help you branch out your reading taste.

People have different lives, and some tips might not work for everyone. But I hope a few of these will give you ideas on how you could read more. Remember, reading is not a chore. Take frequent breaks, and don’t force yourself to finish a book if you don’t like it. Most of all, remember to have fun.
