Mike Mazzilli's 14 Through 24 is a memoir of emotion written into poetry that speaks from the heart. Mazzilli has written about the shame, pain, love, loss, inspiration, and turmoil that he encountered throughout his youth and shared it in the pages of 14 Through 24. This poetry tugs at the heart with more than simple musings that rhyme; they easily capture the reader, pulling them in so that they too may understand the moments Mazzilli experienced in those tender years and impressionable times. The progression of the poetry in 14 Through 24 shows how he grew through the years and learned the lessons that can only be taught with time and experience.

I absolutely loved 14 Through 24 by Mike Mazzilli! Mazzilli captured my attention and my heart as he laid his own heart bare in the lines of his poetry. The experiences Mazzilli shares in 14 Through 24 are easy to understand and identify with, which in turn causes the reader to be drawn into his world and feel how he felt in that moment. I recommend 14 Through 24 to anyone who has ever stopped for just a moment to consider the events in their life that have brought them to where they are now. I love how easy it is to be so caught up in Mazzilli’s poetry that the reader can’t believe the book has really ended and is left craving more. I hope that Mazzilli has many more poems prepared for future compilations like 14 Through 24. This poet is now among one of my absolute favorites and I can’t wait to read more of his work.
