5 Evolutions For Sustainable Weight Loss: Evolve Your Mind to Transform Your Body is a motivational self-help book written by Dr. Tommy Voris. Voris was a motivational speaker and health and fitness coach for many years, but he also had weight issues of his own to contend with. He developed his Evolutions program armed with the knowledge he gained while searching for his own personal health and fitness solution. The book is separated into sections covering each of the 5 Evolutions in his plan, and each chapter ends with assignments for the reader to complete. This book does not include or recommend a diet plan, and the author believes that most of the people who’ll be reading it have already read a number of different diet books and have tried different diets. What it does do is show the reader how to establish a mind-brain connection to attain life-long effortless control over one’s fitness and weight.

Dr. Tommy Voris’ motivational self-help book, 5 Evolutions For Sustainable Weight Loss: Evolve Your Mind to Transform Your Body, presents an original and highly intriguing approach to nutrition, fitness and the attainment of one’s ideal weight. While the book is primarily geared toward and written for female readers, the gist of Voris’ coaching is equally applicable to the male reader. I found the exercises at the end of each chapter to be a useful extension of the information presented; one that takes the reading experience to a deeper and more personal level. Voris presents his material in a fluent and conversational style. He freely shares his own experiences with weight issues, financial hardships, and life in general, and his enthusiasm is often quite contagious. While I had hoped to see an appendix listing the reading materials he discusses in the text, I otherwise found that 5 Evolutions For Sustainable Weight Loss: Evolve Your Mind to Transform Your Body presents an impressive and accessible program for those wishing to lose weight. It’s highly recommended.

Dr. Tommy Voris' 5 Evolutions For Sustainable Weight Loss: Evolve Your Mind to Transform Your Body is a useful book that deals with a relevant and favorite topic of many people - losing weight. It is indeed helpful for those who have been working on losing weight and struggling with weight issues. The book is based on the author's experiences with patients and clients, and is not about losing weight quickly but about evolving and slowly effecting a transformation in one's thought processes. The author adopts a new approach towards weight loss and it has no diet plans or special food recipes for reducing weight.

I enjoyed the book as it looks at the concept of weight loss with a unique perspective. The author motivates readers to delve into their own minds and create a life changing bridge that will equip them better to change and evolve. The strategies, anecdotes and exercises shared are very useful in helping readers analyze and control their thoughts about food. The exercises in particular are very helpful in conquering one's craving for food and also help one to visualize healthy eating habits. The book stresses making better food choices that will enable one to overcome the frustrating weight issues they are facing in life. Reading the book will educate everyone and help them think logically and focus on their problem areas. It does motivate one to make significant changes by retraining the mind.

In 5 Evolutions For Sustainable Weight Loss: Evolve Your Mind to Transform Your Body, Dr. Tommy Voris offers one of the most thorough, detailed, and well-researched books on weight loss that I have come across in a long time. I find that weight loss and exercise books are literally a dime a dozen, and for someone who is looking for a good book on the subject, it can be confusing to know which one to pick or where to even start. Dr. Tommy Voris provides detailed tips for healthy living, and a lot of useful techniques and habits that one can learn that are beyond simple diet and exercise. The book shows you that losing weight and, more importantly, maintaining an optimal weight is a question of mind over matter. Dr. Voris especially places emphasis on the fact that simply going on a “diet” is not a long-term, feasible solution and that, in fact, can do more harm than good. Instead, achieving the right balance between food, exercise, body, and mind is the key to looking and feeling good. The book also contains a lot of useful exercise and work sheets that will help propel the reader towards taking some definite action.

Dr. Tommy writes in a wonderfully warm, earnest, and helpful way. Throughout the reading of this book, I was inspired by his own story that he shares with readers. I also felt that he truly cares about and is passionate about the subject and this comes across in various chapters throughout the book. This book is definitely a must-read for anyone who is looking to be inspired on their journey towards a healthier weight or even simply a healthier life. I would highly recommend this book.

The Five Evolutions for Sustainable Weight Loss is a book of psychological guidance by Dr Tommy Voris. Labelled as an ‘anti-diet’ strategy, the book aims to teach mental empowerment which overrides the biological urges that cause some people to find themselves in the weight loss trap where they can lose weight by dieting, but pile it all back on again soon after. This friendly and helpful book guides readers through strategies for improving emotional and psychological strength, with new mantras designed to increase your personal determination to succeed at losing weight and being healthier in general. The result is a guidebook/workbook that readers can apply to their lives page by page, and a strategy that I really think will work for those who take it to heart.

I am definitely, as Dr Tommy Voris puts it, someone who looks for ‘what’s wrong’ with weight loss strategies, but I can honestly say that this book speaks a great deal of truth on the subject. It may be hard for some to hear, but changing your mindset, and thereby your lifestyle, really is the way to lose weight and also sustain that loss for a long period in your life. The Five Evolutions for Sustainable Weight Loss is engagingly written, and Dr Voris’ friendly-but-frank style lays down the empowering truth about taking control of your weight and your life. It’s not a book for the faint hearted, or those who seek the easy path, but it is a book to work at, return to, and reaffirm your beliefs from when the going gets tough. A very rewarding read.
