A Caregiver's Love Story and Reference Guide is a self-help guidebook/memoir in which former registered nurse Nancie Wiseman Attwater recounts her personal experiences of taking care of her husband, Bill, during his terminal illness. Bill and Nancie's blissful marriage of over three decades hits a roadblock when Bill's health issues spring up. A successful senior counsel in his heyday, the multiple diagnoses of early-onset dementia and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis start taking a toll on Bill's physical and mental health. Nancie uses her former training as a registered nurse to take care of Bill's day-to-day needs. In this book, Nancie offers tips and advice on taking care of a loved one. From knowing when to call an ambulance to assuming the responsibility of the patient's Power of Attorney, there is a myriad of things the caregiver must keep in mind.

If you have a close relative or a loved one in need of personalized care, A Caregiver's Love Story and Reference Guide is a must-read for you. Author Nancie Wiseman Attwater offers grounded yet helpful knowledge gained from years of experience in taking care of her terminally ill beloved husband, Bill. Nancie gives readers valuable tips using personal anecdotes that make her experiences relatable and more personable. For example, how to deal with anticipatory grief or the ways you can avoid compassion fatigue, and much more. You can't help but feel for both Bill and Nancie and root for them as they continue to overcome the daily rigors of everyday life. The humor sprinkled through the pages brings some levity to the narrative. An inspirational and helpful book that I highly recommend.
