Book 3, the grand finale of A Demon’s Quest: The Beginning of the End by Charles Carfagno Jr., begins by coming full circle with Gilex continuing his quest to awaken the Blood Knights. From there, readers rejoin Torhan and Katara who are continuing their quest to awaken Sybil, the little girl held by a priest because she has the ability to control animals. Their journey takes them through many quests within quests, because everybody wants something before they can obtain the Amulet of REM. After many trials and tribulations with settling scores, setting souls free, and keeping each other alive, the story catches up with Jacko and Breen hot on the trail of the deadly assassin responsible for his teacher's death. They find him in the town of Snowdrift, while their monk companion is in the healer's care after a snow leopard attack nearly ends his life. While traveling to find his friend, Torhan is also torn up pretty badly. The two friends are finally reunited, and join forces to wreak vengeance on Slyantom the Half Fox.

Once again, Mr Carfagno produces an action packed story that delivers on all levels. His attention to detail and his writing style kept this reader engrossed from beginning to end. Charles Carfagno finally brings the story in a complete circle with the conclusion of Repan, the Lord of the Mind, and Celthric and the old farmer, Norice, in search of the Pool of Knowledge. The battle for supremacy in the finale of A Demon’s Quest, Book 3 will have Dungeons & Dragons enthusiasts foaming at the mouth for more. Encore!

The adventure continues in Charles Carfagno Jr.’s A Demon’s Quest: The Beginning of the End (Volume 3). Even though this is the third installment in the series, the story actually continues from Volume One. I was happy to be reunited with and read about my favorite character again, the brave Rustic. After surviving the Mangalers’ attack, Rustic becomes somewhat disillusioned with Gilex and the mission. Human sized rats, nameless creatures with razor sharp claws and teeth, a human eating giant – the journey to the Circle of Demise is as perilous as ever, but the group finally arrived at their destination. Yet is the journey worth it?

In the meantime, Master Shoo has arrived at the Order of the Searing Blade to seek help to fight the enemy in the town of Redden, while Torhan must rescue Sybil with the help of Katara the healer. There are several plot lines to follow, so Volume 3 is not as standalone as the previous volumes. Readers who didn’t follow the series from the beginning might be slightly confused. That being said, Carfagno has done a really good job of maintaining the series' quality through its hallmark appeal – the adrenaline pumping, detailed fight scenes and the well-developed characters. The otherworldly creatures never cease to amaze me and the writing is as clear and precise as ever. Fans of A Demon’s Quest will love the dramatic conclusion that Carfagno provided for the series in Volume 3. I enjoyed it and will keep my eyes open for Carfagno’s future works.

Wow! In an absolutely fabulous conclusion to the first book in a planned series by author Charles Carfagno, A Demon's Quest: The Beginning of the End, Volume Three, readers will return to the fantastic world of our protagonist, Torhan, and Katara, the healer. Torhan finds himself in a position in which he must rescue Sybil, but when reclusive hermit Tole stands in his way, he's not sure what will become of the lovely maiden. The plot thickens with the adventures of The Red Knight, Chief Weis, and the Overlord and his demon, Dybbuk, but overall, readers will find themselves on the edge of their seats for the whole ride that this fantastic novel takes them on.

I so enjoyed A Demon's Quest. Author Charles Carfagno has again hit the nail on the head with this great conclusion to the first book in this extremely promising series. The story will pull readers in from the first page, and will keep them turning the pages until the very end, much as the first volumes did. Readers who enjoy great works of fantasy, science fiction, adventure, thrills, or just a creative and interesting work of fiction should absolutely read this book. I highly recommend A Demon's Quest: The Beginning of the End, Volume Three and certainly hope that author Charles Carfagno is hard at work on the next volume as we speak. This promising series is likely to become a favorite of any reader who gives it a chance!
