In an absolutely wonderful guide for new parents, A First Time Survival Guide for New Parents: A How to Manual for the First Two Years, by author Dr. Clifford Dale James, readers are given useful, practical and realistic advice in raising their newborns to age two. Dr. James, an experienced pediatrician with an obviously wonderful sense of humor, has provided reassuring information that will help to calm the nerves of even the most anxious of first time parents. With topics ranging from choosing a pediatrician, to vaccinations, to feeding, to normal and abnormal things during a child's development, all the way to simply funny stories, this book has something for every new parent!

I loved this book. Loved. It. My children are now eight and eleven years old, but man, do I wish I had had A First Time Survival Guide for New Parents when they were this age. I was a typical anxious and inexperienced new mom, with the added advantage of having access to the internet and a penchant for spending way too much time doing research about obscure diseases and problems a child might encounter. Dr. James' excellent mix of information, humor and reassurance in this book would have been a godsend for me (and probably my sons' pediatrician!). I highly recommend A First Time Survival Guide for New Parents: A How to Manual for the First Two Years for any new parents, or as a gift for a person you may know about to have their first child. I certainly hope that author Dr. Clifford Dale James considers writing a series of these book for children of older ages. I, for one, would be the first in line to buy them!
