Author Biography

Maggie Le Page lives in Christchurch, New Zealand (aka QuakeZone) with her partner, two children, and a snooty cat who thinks they’re all her slaves. Her days are spent running around after kids or doing one of her 'real' jobs, so her writing generally happens in the dead of night. (Morning? Ha! She’s a third-generation night owl. Enough said.)

She loves chocolate, hates being cold, and is ever fascinated by the possibility of time travel. Obviously, her ideal experience would be to wake up on a tropical island eighty years into the future, with an endless supply of chocolate on hand.

In A Heat of the Moment Thing by Maggie Le Page, Becky Jordan experiences an embarrassing near-death incident. A gorgeous, charming man saves her life. Even though she wants to see him again, the last place she expects to see him is at her new dream job…as her new boss. Becky can’t deny her attraction to Matt, but she is determined to avoid a workplace romance. Been there, done that. In an attempt to forget about the obvious chemistry between them, Becky finds a guy to distract her, but this leads to unforeseen consequences that will ultimately have a huge impact on her life.

This book was equally amusing and heartwarming. There were hysterical moments where I was literally laughing out loud and other touching moments where my heart did a little pitter-patter. While the last quarter of the book seemed a bit slow-paced and the ending seemed abrupt, the rest of the book was borderline perfect. The plot was entertaining and the characters were unforgettable. And the absolute best part was the romance between Becky and Matt. It was believable and incredibly sweet. Even though there were intimate scenes, Maggie Le Page does an excellent job of creating sensual moments without them being overly erotic, which isn’t commonplace these days and is refreshing to see. While romance is definitely prominent in this story, A Heat of the Moment Thing is also about a woman finding herself and learning to follow her heart. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read more from this talented author.
