Author Biography

As a child, Lauren Linwood gathered her neighborhood friends together and made up stories for them to act out, her first venture into creating memorable characters. Following her passion for history and love of learning, she became a teacher who began writing on the side to maintain her sanity in a sea of teenage hormones.

Lauren’s historical novels focus on two of her favorite eras—medieval times and the American Old West. History is the backdrop that places her characters in extraordinary circumstances, where their intense desire and yearning for one another grows into the treasured gift of love. She also writes romantic suspense, where modern heroes and heroines unite to defeat a strong antagonist and discover a deep, abiding love during their journey.

Lauren, a native Texan, lives in a Dallas suburb with her family. An avid reader, moviegoer, and sports fan, she manages stress by alternating yoga with five mile walks. She is thinking about starting a support group for House Hunters addicts—as soon as she finishes her next piece of dark chocolate.

A Knight for Kallen by Lauren Linwood is the story of Kallen, a unique young woman with a special gift who was born in a convent and spent the first 18 years of her life there. After the deaths of two people that swore nobody would know of her birth, Kallen goes on a journey to meet her family, and along the way learns that she's stronger than she even thought possible, the world is dangerous, and that you find love where you least expect it. Griffith thought the mission would be quick: pick Kallen up from the convent and deliver her into the hands of her family. He didn't realize that she would be the woman to bring him out of his grief and the woman he would sacrifice anything and everything to see safe if it came to that. Quentin is bent on getting what is his and taking his revenge when he feels people have done him wrong, even if that means raping a child and years later using his daughter to get what he wants and thinks he deserves.

A Knight for Kallen by Lauren Linwood is a romance with a small twist: the heroine has a special gift. A Knight for Kallen has imagery that places you right there with the characters, seeing the things they see, feeling what they feel, and at times smelling what they smell. There were moments when I thought all was lost, that Kallen and Griffith would never get their happily ever after, and there were moments where I thought nothing could touch them, that they'd finally gotten their happily ever after. The characters were easy to relate to and I was able to connect with them quickly as most of the characters have experienced things almost all of us have experienced: deep loss, deep love, and a strong commitment to family.
