A Life Begins by Keith Harrison Walker is an autobiography of the author’s legendary life. The author narrates different aspects of his journey in a non-chronological manner. He talks about his parents and gives a brief history of their lives and the impact they had on him. He also talks about his sister, Beverly, and her family. Keith has gone through traumatic moments that he honestly discloses and explains the effects they had on him. He covers topics on his sexuality, romantic relationships, and encounters. He also dives into his high school and college experiences and how they shaped his future, diverse career, and accomplishments. Keith narrates his time in the navy and how it led to his love for convertible cars. Finally, he discusses his marriage and his husband's paintings.

Keith Harrison Walker wrote A Life Begins to help anyone that can learn something from his life experiences and to keep an account of his existence. The author does not count himself as an influential or vital person, but every life is special, and his experiences have many life-changing lessons. Family is important to the author, and this is evident from the discussion of his extended family and neighbors he treated like relatives. His life journey led him to meet celebrities and prominent people in society. Keith downplays his contribution to the Pritzker award ceremonies, which made me appreciate his humble and hardworking spirit. He also goes into honest details about his marriage and relationship he shared with Robert and the legacy of his art. The author did not keep a journal but uses his impressive vivid memory and collection of pictures to tell his heartwarming story.
