S. Jones-Marshall is a poet. One does not usually think about those in the military reading poetry, but Jones-Marshall writes with them in mind. Many of our men and women in uniform have sustained Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and too often feel their life is over. Jones-Marshall has had TBI for more than 38 years. Their book is A Matter of Perspective, and it is an attempt to show that life goes on even with this difficult diagnosis. I have always said, “As long as there is life, there is hope.” The author seeks to give hope to those who face life as someone who is differently-abled. Having a TBI or any other debilitating diagnosis does not make someone disabled. They are still able but able in different ways. S. Jones-Marshall is living proof that the differently-abled can still have a good life. The poems in this book are uplifting.

In A Matter of Perspective, S. Jones-Marshall shares the hope and proof that someone with a Traumatic Brain Injury can live life to the fullest. The author shares poems of hope and love and their perspective is from one who has TBI and has thrived with this diagnosis for over 38 years. This book is designed to encourage and uplift. It gives hope. It gives comfort. It is an easy read and is written in a highly accessible format for all kinds of readers. Each poem is short and full of thought. Jones-Marshall writes for those with TBI, but everyone will enjoy the uplifting message contained in these poems. TBI may cause many detours and roadblocks on life’s journey, but this book shows that life goes on and a new normal is worth living. Read A Matter of Perspective today and be encouraged and uplifted.
