Being a sucker for animals, especially cats, and having adopted all of our cats through the Humane Society, I was drawn to read this adorable children's book. A Naughty Little Angel by Bivi Ariel walks us through the story of a little girl named Caroline who finds an abandoned white kitten, which she names Angel. I was drawn to the illustration depicting the kitty because I had a white cat just like the one in the book, with one blue eye and one green eye. Caroline would read stories to Angel and, in return, Angel would bring Caroline "gifts" like shoelaces and ribbons that she played with on the floor. The two were best friends and inseparable ... until Angel got sick.

I almost shed a tear because this is nearly identical to what happened with me and my white cat. A Naughty Little Angel by Bivi Ariel is a heartwarming tale about the love between a little girl and her cat. It also stresses the importance of adopting and rescuing animals rather than buying them or breeding them. Children will fall in love with Angel and will enjoy hearing this story read to them or reading it themselves. Hopefully every child will have an Angel in their lives to love.
