Can a marriage work when two people are thrown together just because someone else thinks they would make a sensible match? Well, this is what happened to Abby and Edwin. Being shy around the opposite sex, Abby seemed quite content being a spinster. But Abby’s mother wasn’t satisfied, so she reminded Edwin’s mother of a promise made between them many years ago. Edwin will be serving as the vicar in Abby’s church, so why not throw the two young people together, because it will make a sensible match, will it not? Well, this was not what Edwin and Abby wanted! But the two agreed to meet, and they were both surprised because maybe this wasn’t so bad after all! The attraction between the two continued to grow, but then tragedy struck and they could only turn to the Lord for help in the difficult times facing both of them.
Teryl Cartwright pens a wonderful and powerful love story that will grip your heart and hold it until way past the last pages of her book, “A Sensible Match.” Just when it seems that life is good for Abby and Edwin, Teryl throws in several twists and turns that will have you on your toes. You will find yourself rooting for the young couple as they face the challenges that come their way. I highly recommend this wonderfully written love story. You will fall in love with Abby and Edwin as they struggle to make life work for them. I encourage you to grab a copy for a really nice summer read. You will not be disappointed.
