    Book Review

Many people including pastors shun the book of Revelations. I teach an adult Sunday School Class. I’ve wanted to do a study of Revelation for several years but class members are afraid that will become "bogged down," confused, or fixated on the topic. The book scares many people. If they could only realize that if Jesus Christ lives in their heart they have nothing to fear.

Scholars have long argued over the meaning of trumpets, bowls, candlesticks, etc. I have read several books and participated in several bible studies focused on the Book of Revelation. Most of them have left me with unanswered questions. That’s alright because the study made me think.

God reveals Himself to us in a variety of ways including scripture. While we may not understand all of Revelation it contains God’s plan and is relevant to our lives. "The book of Revelation is the only book that gives a blessing to those that read it, and so it was with this purpose that I set out to illuminate what God has already revealed. And in so doing I tried not to be to technical, but at the same time provide enough information for the reader to grasp what is at stake for their eternal state. Rev."

McKisic does an excellent job of breaking down the scripture and bringing light and understanding to it. Illuminating Revelation by Reverend Kelvin McKisic draws in prophesies revealed throughout the Bible, including Daniel and Ezekiel. This is an excellent resource. It would benefit from questions at the end of each chapter. I hope Reverend McKisic will make this the first in a series covering the whole Bible.
