Author Biography

I am a native New Englander, raised in Maine, who went to New Orleans to study architectural preservation and promptly fell in love with a man named Ian when we were each walking our dogs on the levee in the rain. We now live in North Carolina with our two children. I have worked as a carpenter, an illustrator, an art director for a woodworking magazine, and a cake decorator, and after many years of marriage to a native New Orleanian I am proud to say that I can make a mean gumbo and a praline that peels cleanly off a sheet of waxed paper.

A Very Married Christmas (Southern Born Christmas Book 3) by Erika Marks is the perfect Christmas book of the season. Marley is in the process of getting a divorce from Beck. She still loves him, but things didn’t work out when she became a popular cookbook author and he did not give her the freedom she needed. Beck is an all-star, very popular baseball pitcher and still has feelings for Marley. They are both going to the Christmas Day wedding of their old friends, in their hometown of Magnolia Bay. Marley is traveling back home with her best friend, Gina. Beck is bringing his beautiful new, young girlfriend. The bride and groom have planned a weekend of fun activities for all of the guests to enjoy, one being a boat ride to the island where Beck proposed to Marley ten years ago - when the two are accidentally left alone on the island overnight there are explosive results.

Erika Marks has written a Christmas story that will make you cry, make you smile and positively put you in the holiday spirit. I would love to see this on the Hallmark Channel as a Christmas special movie; I believe it would become a yearly classic very quickly. A Very Married Christmas is only 120 pages and I read it in one night because it was just too good to put down. If you read no other Christmas stories this year but A Very Married Christmas, you will have read one of the best. I give Erika Marks and A Very Married Christmas top rating and highly recommend it.
