A Weight of Reckoning: Sequel to The Seven Words is a work of fantasy fiction with strong Christian themes, and was penned by author C. S. Wachter. After the epic adventure of The Seven Words series and its many trials and tribulations, Wachter returns with a new epic tale that follows their events. Here, Rayne is on the eve of finally getting married but finds himself targeted once again because of his triumph over the banished demons. A cult of scroll worshippers is poised to bring the demons back and once more destroy the good work Rayne has completed, and he must find yet more strength within to endure and overcome their plans.

It’s been a while since I’ve ventured into the atmospheric and action-packed world of author C. S. Wachter, and it was so good to be back with Prince Rayne in this brand new incarnation after the events of the epic series. With Rayne now firmly in the position of a saviour, the dynamics of the tale have changed a lot, but the message and underlying Christian themes are still strongly felt and even more developed than ever. The United Scrolls of Ochen are a dangerous foe with plenty of dark deeds, and the plot events are well constructed to pit Rayne not just against them, but against his own self-doubt as he continues his emotional journey to maintain his strength. Overall, A Weight of Reckoning shifts the dynamics and makes a brand new refreshing read for fans of the series, and indeed newcomers to this world.
