Abstract Love by Samantha Christy is a contemporary romance that takes the dark subject of chemotherapy and turns it into a romantic situation. Keri is twenty-four and has had a hard life. Both of her parents have passed away, she had a rough stint in the juvenile detention center, and her luck with men has left much to be desired. But when she meets Jace at a chemotherapy session, she is instantly attracted to his generosity, wisdom, and wit. He's kind and genuinely interested in Keri, something she's never experienced from a man before. But Keri isn't looking for a romance. In fact, she's just trying to survive. Should she risk taking her focus off her disease and focus on Jace, who just might be the angel that she needs? But what if their story doesn't have a happy ending?

Abstract Love by Samantha Christy is a unique romance in the fact that it doesn't have the typical cheerful subject. But I think readers who can look past the depressing topic will get into a really good story, well written characters, interesting and page turning scenes. The relationship between Keri and Jace is full of tension and passion and questions, which I think readers will appreciate because it makes their relationship seem more authentic. They are both going through something terrible and horrifying, but they get strength from one another to keep fighting the good fight. And why shouldn't they have a little fun along the way?
