A retired school psychologist, Martha Louise writes children’s stories to encourage prosocial behavior, hoping to instill kindness, empathy, and compassion in our young. Martha lives on one of Florida’s barrier islands between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. She has three grown daughters—two have scattered to Chicago and Ireland, and one recently moved back to Florida. When her children were younger, they were active in sports and the arts, and Martha includes their challenges in her true-to-life fictional stories. The author hopes her writing will help children gain strength and confidence in case they encounter similar circumstances.
