Aimee's Restoration by Audrey Marr is a beautiful story with strong Christian themes and a thoughtfully written romance that can be read as a Christmas story. Aimee McCormack is a broken widow, haunted by nightmares, who has decided never to trust men again. When she moves to the city of Chamberlain with her son, Jeremy, she befriends the Ross family and enjoys the company of Jane while her son spends time with Seth. The Ross family is a Christian family and when they invite Aimee to their picnic, she eventually starts going back to church. Introduced to Jane’s cousin, Rob Dalton, she is not sure if she wants a relationship. Rob is a wonderful man who is as understanding as he is patient. When things look good between the two, Aimee makes a careless decision that has her involved in an accident. The fragile link between them is severed. Aimee is plunged back into gloom, but the action and words of Rob’s mother will change the outcome of their relationship. Can Aimee resist when Rob comes knocking at the door saying he is sorry?

This is a heartwarming story with a delightful ending. Aimee is a character that I adored. I enjoyed the way the author develops her, keeping her real; a broken woman whose emotional problems are aggravated by her dire financial situation. She has to take two jobs to survive. But Rob is also an exceptionally developed character whose patience will help Aimee along the way. The theme of romance is well developed and the gradual development builds suspense in the story. Aimee's Restoration by Audrey Marr is a story that highlights the power of God in liberating us from our inner demons and giving us the freedom to love. It is a poignant story that can be read as Christian romance and one woman’s journey towards a second chance in love. The prose is crisp, the characters fleshed out, and the plot written with intriguing angles.

Aimee’s Restoration is a work of fiction in the Christian fiction subgenre. It is suitable for all ages and was penned by author Audrey Marr. The book follows widow Aimee McCormack as she and her son start a new life, but with her son about to leave for the military, Aimee starts to put down roots of her own in the new neighborhood. Bonding with her neighbor, she is introduced to Rob Dalton, and though she doesn’t feel the need for a new man in her life, the restoration she is experiencing after starting to attend church once more opens her heart to the new experience.

Aimee’s Restoration follows the journey of Aimee McCormack and her son Jeremy as they move to a new city and deal with their issues, and it does so in a masterful and highly emotive fashion. One of the things that I particularly enjoyed about this novel was the unwavering message of hope and positivity. Protagonist Aimee deals with some intense and emotional issues and feelings throughout the story, but the overall lesson this book teaches is that these can be worked through and you can move on. Author Audrey Marr delivers a cast of fully realized characters who have depth and flaws and are engaging characters to follow. Reading this novel was a humbling and inspirational experience focused on faith and redemption. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Aimee’s Restoration to fans of Christian fiction, and those looking for a read that will take them on an emotional journey alongside the characters.

Aimee's Restoration by Audrey Marr is a sweet Christian romance with characters that have several rough spots to work out before the Lord can bring them together. Aimee McCormack moves to Chamberlain to be by her son, Jeremy, while he attends military school. As a widow, Aimee struggles to make ends mean. She harbors bitterness in her heart because of the verbal and physical abuse dished out by her late husband. Rob Dalton is successful, handsome, and the cousin of Aimee's best friend. Only when she opens her heart to God's grace and forgiveness can she find peace. Aimee and Rob both have anger stored up in their hearts. Can they work through past relationships to find a future with each other?

I found Aimee's Restoration refreshing as Audrey Marr keeps the novel focused on how the characters' relationship with God affects their relationship with each other. The characters have previous relationship problems that affect how they relate to each other. Trust is Aimee's hang-up, while Rob fears being abandoned. The story rotates between Aimee's busy schedule, their interaction with friends and family, and the drama their insecurities create. You can't but love the spunk and determination of Aimee as a single mother willing to sacrifice everything for her child. Rob is kind and considerate but doesn't always understand Aimee's insufficient funds. The author draws the reader into a web of family scenarios; Christmas introductions, separation because of school, and births. Overall, I enjoyed reading this novel and the spiritual emphasis on their relationship.

Aimee's Restoration by Audrey Marr is a Christian romance that is beautifully written, a story that follows Aimee McCormack who moves to a big city with her son, Jeremy, after the death of her husband. Chamberlain offers the opportunity for a new start for both mother and son, but Aimee is still haunted by the nightmare and can’t seem to easily deal with her bitterness. An invitation to a picnic by the Ross family eventually leads her to reconnect with God. Aimee is introduced to Rob Dalton, the cousin of Jane, a woman with whom she has developed a good friendship. While Rob cherishes her, Aimee has a long road to walk when it comes to believing in love again. Rob is patient and understanding. But when he thinks that everything is almost perfect between the two of them, Aimee makes a mistake, resulting in a breakup that is painful to both of them. But the intervention of Rob's mother, Caroline, might just turn things around for both Rob and Aimee.

Audrey Marr’s novel is a character-driven romance that had me rooting for the characters and following them with a lot of interest. It is one of those enthralling stories that explore the depth of human brokenness, the power of faith, and a love that heals. Aimee can be a difficult person, but her attitude is justified by the pain she has carried with her for years. She is stuck and in need of healing, which comes at an unexpected moment and from a place I never imagined as I followed her. The characters in this book are genuine and convincing, and their humanity is brilliantly explored. The richly detailed characters, especially the protagonist with her traumatic past, will grab the attention of any reader. The author uses Christmas as a symbolic moment in the story, a moment of family and human connection. I marveled at the author’s storytelling skills. Aimee’s Restoration is a beautifully written story of faith, romance, and the power that true freedom can bring.

In Aimee's Restoration, Audrey Marr gives readers a refreshing, thoughtful read about forgiveness, restoration, resilience, and second chances through the life of Aimee McCormack. Aimee makes a bold move when she moves away from home and her family to Chamberlain, near the military academy her son will be attending with a full scholarship. Hoping to start a new life free of nightmares, Aimee fills her time with her new job, and she and Jeremy spend time with her new friend Jane and her son, Seth who is Jeremy's age. Through Jane, she meets her cousin, Rob Dalton, who shows interest in her, but after the abuse she endured from her first husband, she has built a thick wall around her heart. She is through with men forever.

Audrey Marr is a new author to me and one I will definitely keep up with. I thoroughly enjoyed Aimee's Restoration. Marr crafted wonderful characters that quickly made their way into my heart, and I certainly did enjoy their development as the story unfolded. I felt bad for Aimee because life continues to be difficult for her, especially with the hidden expenses that continue to pop up. One warm and special moment in the book is when she was finally able to let go and let the Lord back in her life. Rob was kind, caring and generous, and patient with Aimee. I found myself cheering him along, right beside Aimee's son Jeremy, who adored Rob and never minded letting his mom know his feelings. This is such a sweet read. I appreciate how Marr weaves the Christian life within the lives of her characters. And in reading Aimee's Restoration, Marr shows that Christians deal with the most difficult situations, just like anyone else, and they have the Lord to help them through. If you enjoy a good, clean read, I highly recommend this one. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did.
