All's Fair in Love and Blood by Jennifer Peel is a contemporary romance that appeals to young adults. It follows the life of Scarlett Armstrong, an awkward, chubby, and clumsy girl. She was detested by the previous wives and her step-siblings, who felt entitled to her father's money. She didn't think much of herself, but Kane thought otherwise. Kane, a bright staff member of Armstrong's Lab, was the son of her father's latest wife. They met at their parents' wedding and became drawn to each other. Something beautiful ignited between them with a promise of forever. But what happens when Kane's mother and Scarlett's father fight against their relationship? What happens when they are pitted against each other in the race to become the company's CEO? Will their love stand the test of the will to win?

All's Fair in Love and Blood by Jennifer Peel is a beautiful novel that had me engaged. It touches on important subjects that every young adult should imbibe. Self-esteem, self-awareness, determination, seeing dreams through, among others, are some of the lessons I picked up from this book. Others tend to see us the way we see ourselves, and that's a fact. I loved the unique and unpredictable plot, with its twists and turns. When I thought it was over, a new curveball was thrown. Jennifer did excellent work with character development. I especially enjoyed watching Scarlett blossom from that unsure and awkward twenty-two-year-old into an assured thirty-year-old. The writing style was also conversational, giving me insight into each character's point of view. This was a delightful read, and I'd love to read more of Jennifer's works.
