In Angelfire, the first in a new series by Hanna Peach, eighteen-year-old Alyx is a lightwarrior, a Seraphim sworn to defeat the Darkened and hold back the demons of hell. But she suddenly finds herself wracked with visions of a boy named Israel and learns that she's the center of a prophecy deeply hidden by the Seraphim Elders who've become corrupt during their long imprisonment on Earth. Though she isn't exactly sure who Israel is, she finds herself strongly drawn to him by a bond stronger than magic. If he dies, she dies. Filled with an epic romance, prophecy, and betrayal, Angelfire is a fast paced urban fantasy about angels and demons and what happens when the lines of right and wrong begin to blur between them.

Angelfire was a fantastic read and went by super fast with each new secret revealed. Alyx and Israel had such a sweet romance and I can't wait to see how they'll kick butt together in the next book in the series, Angelstone. I also enjoyed the small paragraphs at the end of each chapter that explained about the Seraphims' special powers and what they did. The first book in the Dark Angel series, Angelfire is sure to be enjoyed by enthusiasts of the angel mythos as well as those who like their romance to be more of the celestial kind.
