Anonymous by Dani-Lyn Alexander is based upon a souring relationship between Ali and her husband Mark. They were on the brink of a divorce. Ali was taking the break-up pretty hard and it did not help either that she bumped into Mark with his new girlfriend. Ali was completely devastated. To make matters worse, she was still being harassed via telephone calls and letters by an unknown person. To reduce her stress, Ali took her friend Kendra’s advice and signed up on Anonymous, an online dating site. Ali began corresponding with Joe. Both of them looked forward to sharing their thoughts, habits, etc. Eventually, they made plans to meet on a cruise. What a surprise was in store for Ali.

Anonymous is a fast paced novel that belongs in the romance genre. It is emotionally charged and author Dani-Lyn Alexander did an excellent job in producing an appealing plot. I was able to identify with the main character and feel the pain she was feeling. The language used is colloquial and is quite easy to understand. I like the fact that the author chose to expose the naked emotions of the male character. This signifies that both men and women can display their vulnerabilities, regardless of their positions in life. I love the twist of fate whereby the “anonymous” persons were not really anonymous. This highlight made the storyline extra intriguing. In total, I loved reading the novel. It immediately captured my attention. I recommend it to all fans of romance stories.
