Author Biography

Louise Katherine Chapman was born in Somerset, UK, in 1986. She studied Psychology at the University of Southampton before working as a psychologist designing personality questionnaires for a consultancy company.

She published her first book, Networked, in 2014- a science-fiction novel that challenges what it means to have a human life; calling into question our ideas about happiness, mortality and the meaningfulness of our existence. In the story, LK Chapman draws on her own experiences of depression- and in particular how it affects a romantic relationship- to inspire the fictional account of depression that runs through the book. Her second novel, psychological thriller Anything for Him was published in 2016, and follows the attempt of a deeply troubled man to get revenge on the friend he claims stole his first girlfriend and ruined his life.

LK Chapman lives in Hampshire, with her husband and young family.

Anything for Him by LK Chapman is a fast paced, exciting thriller. We meet Felicity, who has lost her parents in a very tragic way; Jay, who hasn't had a easy life; Sammie, Jay's first love; and Mark, Jay's childhood best friend. Jay is looking to get revenge on Mark for sleeping with his ex-girlfriend Sammie. He drags Felicity into his plan and Felicity decides to go along with it to make Jay happy. Both Sammie and Felicity discover Jay's abusive and violent side, but by the time they do it's too late to leave. What's even scarier is the fact that Jay is not even the deadly one. Dragged into a world of twists and turns, it's easy to put your trust in the wrong person.

In Anything for Him by LK Chapman, the issue of violent relationships is dealt with in a excellent and honest way. Like Sammie, Felicity makes Jay her whole world, only to end up in a situation that she may not even survive. The book switches between Sammie and Felicity, but this is not done in a confusing manner. I normally struggle with books that do this, but it was done so well that it was easy to follow and the story flowed perfectly. I found myself wanting to keep reading, even though I should have been sleeping. It was nearly impossible to put down this book and, even when finished, the story has stayed with me. I highly recommend Anything for Him by LK Chapman, but make sure you have enough time to just keep reading as you will not want to put it down once you start.

When Felicity agreed to help her heartbroken flatmate, Jay, get revenge on the childhood friend who had allegedly destroyed his life, she had no idea what she was getting herself into ... until it was too late. Jay and Mark had been childhood best friends until, according to Jay, Mark stole his girlfriend and completely destroyed his life. All this happened eleven years ago, but Jay never got over it. Now Jay was seeking to exact the ultimate revenge on Mark and Felicity was his pawn. Felicity felt that there was something unclear about Jay's story, but agreed to help him anyway. The plan - get Mark to fall in love with her so Jay can 'steal' her from him. Karma. However, Felicity soon realized that all was not as it seemed with both Jay's and Mark's sides of the story, and soon she found herself caught in the most bizarre love triangle.

Anything for Him by LK Chapman is an epic tale of teenage drama, jealousy, double love triangles, and a revenge plot gone terribly wrong. It is a fast paced read with an exciting plot that will keep you glued to the pages. The story reads like a well-blended two in one from the angles of Jason and Mark as hormonal teenagers, and then the climax of their drama as adults. The two angles are told side by side, thereby allowing the reader to understand the history of the plot without slowing down the story. LK Chapman kept the drama and thrills alive with fresh plot twists all through the story and a major twist at the end that I never saw coming.

In the thriller, Anything For Him by L.K. Chapman, Jay is the common denominator that weaves two time periods of the book together; his teenage years with Sammie and present day with Felicity. Felicity knows that Jay has had a turbulent past, but only begins to question his sanity when he asks her to help him get revenge by sleeping with the enemy. Felicity finds incentive to go along with the plan, but as she learns more about the person she is exacting revenge on and the history between the guys, she starts to get the odd feeling there is more to the story than both are letting on, and that history may be repeating itself. And if she is reading history correctly, Jay’s behavior will only become more controlling. But she’s already agreed to the plan and there doesn’t seem to be a way out except forward. Her only hope seems to lie in the hands of the enemy but, according to Jay, he can’t be trusted.

Anything For Him by L.K. Chapman is a truly chilling thriller, with some seriously disturbing characters. What makes them so disturbing is how easily they could be the persona of someone we know in real life: a teen girl looking for attention - even if it’s negative - a volatile teen boy unable to handle his emotions, an emotionally vulnerable young woman who is making poor decisions in her grief, and a person struggling with odd OCD tendencies. What on the surface looks like unfortunately common unhealthy relationship choices or even a domestic violence situation quickly escalates into something more sinister, twisted and, in a word, evil. It’s not for the faint of heart, but I couldn’t put it down.
