Astrology has always fascinated me. Steeped in mysticism like almost no other science, Astrology attempts to make predictions based on the movements of the stars and their relation to us. This belief and practice is very cool and full of creative promise for those who like to explore it in a literary sense. Danni Hamilton is a perfectly normal seventeen-year-old. She is just crazy obsessed with the zodiac and everything about astrology. Like Danni, I am a Gemini, so I have wondered about a lot of the things she did too. I admit that, in middle and high school, I was obsessed with all things pagan, astrological, and occult. Nothing crazy..I just read a lot of books and painted my hair too many colors to count. It was really cool to follow along with Danni as she explored WAY further into the signs and stars than I ever did on her great and crazy journey.

Rebecca Rossi writes Astrology Pond in a very creative, yet scientific way. I haven't really read a book that did as good a job blending fantasy and fact, except for the greats of course...Tolkien, Rowling and the like. I also really enjoyed the character development. Danni's friend Reilly is just as much fun, if not more so, than Danni herself, and I am a huge fan of side characters who really shine. This is a fun, fast paced read that many teens and young adults will enjoy. I do think it is written a little young though. The main character is seventeen, but I feel I would have enjoyed this story the most as a pre-teen or young teenager.
