Howie Junkie’s Backpacking Junkie: How to Backpack Around the World by Yourself is a short guide, but is chock full of information for those readers who are wanting to immerse themselves in another land, and do it on a cheaper budget. The tone of this how-to guide is one that you will instantly connect with, its voice is on the personal level. Backpacking Junkie: How to Backpack Around the World by Yourself by Howie Junkie made me think differently about how I usually travel. I have never personally been the type that wants to crawl completely out of my comfort zone, but I will say that this book makes me want to attempt an immersive experience in a foreign land. The tone of the writer is so familiar that you are a bit saddened when coming to the end of the book. Backpacking Junkie makes you want to experience what life holds for you outside of your regular day to day existence. For others out there, life might be grand, but some of us might be searching for a bit more. Given the information in Backpacking Junkie and how advanced technology has become regarding language barriers, I don’t see how I could go wrong traveling in this manner. It is my opinion that if there is anyone out there looking for that special book to help steer them in the right direction when it comes to traveling lightly, then look no further; Backpacking Junkie by Howie Junkie is that book.
