Two lost souls finally find home in Stacy Eaton’s Barbara’s Plea. Barbara regrets the day she met her husband. She lives in fear of the domineering man whose fists know no bounds. Now Barbara has a 16-month-old daughter, Allie, and she must protect her. There is only one way to do that: run away. The only person who can protect her is her grandmother. After a brutal episode at the hands of her husband, she packs her bags and leaves him for good.

Grey Bloodstone’s life has not been easy. He recently lost two of his loved ones and the medical bills have drained him dry. He lost his job and now he is dejected. He sat on a bench without knowing that he is sitting next to Gloria Withers, a very wealthy woman. She hires him to make some furniture for her, and he will move into the apartment above the workshop.

When Barbara gets home to her grandmother, she is greeted by a stranger, a stranger who is gentle and loves her little daughter. Soon, the two develop feelings for each other with Barbara falling for him and dreaming of a happy future with him. But her past gets in their way. Is Grey strong enough to fight her demons for her? Or will their love perish?

Stacy Eaton’s Barbara’s Plea is an amazing novel. Very few novels have the ability to reach into your heart right from the first page. Barbara represents every woman who has had to suffer from domestic abuse and rise above it. Many women do not have the courage to turn their backs on these men and take their children with them, Barbara showed that there is definitely a way out of a bad relationship and a woman can take care of her children without the help of a man. I really enjoyed it, and am looking forward to reading more from this author.
