The setting is 1980s Hollywood. Our heroine is Elizabeth Warren a young woman from Kentucky. She had two dreams in life: to become a talented actress, marry a man she truly loves and to raise a family. Her two dreams seem contradictory to each other. Can a person live the life of Hollywood starlet and still have a loving family life. Warren auditioned and won the starring role in a movie. The male lead was her idol, James Thorton.

"Bardstown" is a one of a kind story. I found it difficult to put down. It is well written and the characters are life-like. In Sissy Marlyn’s latest book she looks at life from the point of view of a hopeful actress. It is easy to be caught up in our dreams but they do not always work out the way we plan. Marlyn’s characters are life like. They come alive on the page and draw the reader in to the plot. I felt as if I was there with Elizabeth. I’ve met MS Marlyn and she is as remarkable in person as her books. She enjoys meeting her fans and greets them with an inviting smile. As I always I look forward to reading her next book.
