Stolen identities, a verbose dog, and Comic-Con are cleverly blended to create the sensational sleuth mystery, Bark Twice For Danger by M K Scott. Nala and her mouthy rescue companion, Max, are hunting down a credit card thief for her newest client, Abby. At the same time, Harry, Nala's office neighbor, is also the victim of a credit card scam. As someone has charged costumes to his card, Harry suspects the criminals bought them to wear at the Indy Comic-Con. Meanwhile, Nala's parents, who are currently on a cruise ship, call Nala to investigate some strange charges on her mother's business credit card. While Nala and her techie friend, Elvin, are looking into the bogus credit charges, they discover that Nala's cards have been fraudulently charged as well. Is there an active crime syndicate at work? Nala and each of the victims have worked hard to have spotless credit and are frustrated that someone else is reaping the benefits of their work. With the aid of Max and Elvin, Nala is on the trail of the culprits. She will do whatever it takes to catch them, even if it means going to Comic-Con.

Bark Twice For Danger by M K Scott is a delightfully entertaining sleuth mystery with the added twist of a voluble canine. It is a brilliantly executed novel with witty and engaging characters and a stimulating storyline. Although the thought of identity theft is eye-opening and somewhat disturbing, humorous situations prevented it from being too alarming. I like how well the issue of credit card fraud is explained, and henceforth, I know I shall take better precautions. This is a fantastic novel with a unique and outrageously snarky sidekick and I guarantee cozy mystery fans will love it!
