Author Biography

Raised as a ‘river-rat’ on the Niagara River, Duane spent time in the military before earning his degrees and raising a family. Fascinated with the idea of ‘time travel’, it was only a question of time before it birthed. “Beneath the Turbulence” is the expression of that birth. This 'child' he gives to you and hopes that you enjoy it as much as he did writing it.

David Kincaid is a young man for whom life no longer has meaning. As he is about to jump into the tumultuous waters of the Niagara River, he hears a voice that tells him ‘beneath the turbulence there is peace.’ This is the beginning of an amazing quest for David in Beneath the Turbulence, a fantastic new Christian-based historical fiction novel by D.K. Levick. A bizarre archaeological discovery brings David together with some of the world’s top scientists as they attempt to send David and Barosh, a Rabbi, back in time to meet Jesus of Nazareth. Of course, the entire operation is under scrutiny by ever-present government agents, and the chances of success seem slim. David and Barosh do, in fact, translate to the last year of Jesus’s life and many surprises are in store for them as they meet with historical figures, fight Romans, and become involved in the politics and turbulence that dominated the time period. The question is, will they rise above it all or succumb to the hardships of the era?

Science fiction meets the Gospel in this fabulous story that combines the latest in scientific theory with 2,000 years of government intrigue and the eternal yearnings of the human soul. D.K. Levick masterfully depicts life in the first century as clearly as he explains time travel and other advanced scientific phenomena. He brings it all together in Beneath the Turbulence as a story full of love and hope. With characters that are so real you feel you know them personally, the story moves with purpose to an amazing conclusion that will leave you truly contemplating the depth and commitment of your own beliefs. Wonderful story - quite moving and definitely interesting.
