Betrayed isn’t just the story of a young girl who has been treated poorly by the people she trusted. It is a story of overcoming more adversity than any one person should ever have the misfortune to suffer. It is a story of intense suffering followed by intense joy and, of course, a story of revenge finally fulfilled. This is a story that will dominate your mind and your heart as it most definitely did to me. I can’t get Laurel Murphy out of my head and you simply won’t be able to either after reading this story of the terrible tragedies that she endured and just what she was able to accomplish after.

Morgan St. James has created a book with a character that starts with only two flaws; she is too trusting and she is too devoted to one aspect of her life. But these are not flaws that should have done what they did to her. Throughout this book I was drawn into the life of Laurie and each of the people that treated her well and badly. This book is written from the point of view of several people and yet it still manages to capture the heart and soul of the reader and devote that reader to Laurie and what she has suffered. Betrayed kept me entranced from the start and everyone from the vindictive Maxine Stanley to the sweet and lovable Paul Stanley and Vince were captivating to read about. I would read this book again and again.
