Beyond the Blindfold: Harnessing the Secret Power of Context is a work of non-fiction in a collected essay format with inspirational content and was penned by author Vince Taylor with Susan M. Boyce. In a narrative-style book of advice and guidance, we find ourselves taken through the many different stages of the life of the author, and in doing so we discover a powerful shift in perspective which we can all learn from and be enlightened by. Across 52 different slices of life, the author delivers a bevy of different subject matters that are all relevant to everyday life and the issues we so often discuss over the water cooler.

Author Vince Taylor has crafted a fascinating collection of opinions, viewpoints, and philosophies which many contemporary readers will be sure to enjoy, but may also find surprising and enlightening. One of the things which I liked very much about the collection was the author’s personality in the narrative, but this did not descend into vanity and certainly kept to the essay format and the topic at hand. This strikes a perfect balance that makes it feel like you’re having an informed discussion with a dear friend, and that offers an accessible and welcoming atmosphere to all readers as they too see the world through Taylor’s eyes. What results is a snapshot volume that can be enjoyed in small bites or as a whole journey. Overall, I would certainly recommend Beyond The Blindfold as an uplifting and perspective-shifting experience for all different kinds of readers to enjoy.
