Author Biography

Officially . . . MK McClintock is a multiple award-winning author who has written several novels and short stories, including the popular "Montana Gallagher" series set in the 1880s, the "Crooked Creek" series set in post-Civil War Montana, and the highly-acclaimed "British Agent" novels set in Victorian England, Scotland, and Ireland. She created the multi-author "Whitcomb Springs" series, also set in post-Civil War Montana.

Unofficially . . . I allow my imagination freedom to wander at will. It has not and will not settle on one genre. Future stories will take me across more genres and new eras, and I can't wait to get there. You will come to know me through the words I write, and for an author, that is what truly matters.

Blackwood Crossing . . . Sometimes a story comes along that you want to write but it's a struggle. Your characters take on lives of their own, and no matter how much you want to control them, you can't. Rhona and Charles are unlike any other characters I've written. Their personalities took some getting used to, I'll admit, but when I did, I came to love them as much as I have any others. In some ways, they are the strongest "people" I've ever known, and certainly written. They're fierce and uncompromising, and if they were to walk this earth, I would be honored to call them friends.

In Blackwood Crossing, the second volume of the British Agent Novels, the reader will find themselves on an absolute thrill ride of a mystery, a ride they won't want to get off! Author MK McClintock has done a fabulous job in writing a fantastic romance, mystery, and piece of historical fiction, all in one, certainly no easy feat.

Follow the story of Rhona Davidson, an independent woman who looks to be promised in marriage to a man she hates, the very man who murdered her mother. To escape what appears to be her fate, Rhona makes an arrangement with Charles Blackwood, and that agreement changes her life forever. Charles, who has been in love with Rhona for some time, is willing to do almost anything to win her heart. But when Rhona's devious father plots to keep them apart again, both Rhona and Charles' future happiness is once again at risk.

My goodness, I certainly loved this book! Author MK McClintock has a real gift in creating characters that her readers will connect with and continue to think about long after the book is done. Her ability to create realistic scenes in a historical setting is truly second to none, and the reader will feel as if they are actually in the Scottish highlands and merry old England right along with Rhona and Charles. Any reader who loves historical fiction, mysteries, adventuresome tales or romance will adore this book. I am so pleased to have found Blackwood Crossing, and absolutely would recommend it. And now that I have discovered MK McClintock, well, let's just say I have a new author added to my favorites list! I certainly hope that she is hard at work on the next installment of this great series!
