For a child to see someone that looks like them doing something fascinating is so thrilling for them. This beautifully and colorfully illustrated children's book helps your child to walk through the pages with Brown Boy as he's asked “What Can You Be?” He explores the world as a pilot, ship's captain, orator, actuary or oceanographer; there are so many options at his disposal. Brown Boy can be anything. Your child can be anything. Teach your child how to dream, visualize and be anything that they want to be.
This is a great way for the author to introduce a platform for a child to see that they can be anything. Brown Boy can even be a role model for others within his community - there is nothing that is beyond his reach. I truly enjoyed this book. I loved the various careers and occupations that were presented in the story, which showed so much diversity for a child. Through this book, children can look at the various ways to express themselves, whether it's through math, nature or creativity. Help make this book one of your child’s favorites and begin helping them to create their own pathway by asking them, “What can you be?” Wait for the answer; you'll be surprised.
