Children love activity books with word searches, mazes, spot the differences, or find the hidden objects and they’ll enjoy Captain Polo’s Christmas Activity Book: Educational fun for kids age 6-12. This colored activity book features artwork from The Adventures of Captain Polo comic book series created by Alan J. Hesse. The author writes and illustrates this comic book series that provides subtle hints about climate change and how children can help. Children will love the interactive workbook and parents and teachers will like the fun activities. And you can participate in the activities even if you haven’t read the comic books! I believe that every school and public library will benefit from this enjoyable activity book.

If you love reading or doing puzzles, you’ll love Captain Polo’s Christmas Activity Book. Children will love the board game, connect the dots, word search, and spot the differences, which they can do by themselves or with a friend. Author and illustrator Alan J. Hesse has created a great interactive activity book, which highlights climate change issues by using the artwork from his comic books series. Teachers will enjoy this new approach to learning important lessons while having fun. I especially loved playing the board game on page 9 and discovering all the obstacles created by humans, which could be prevented. Hesse does a marvelous job of combining his two loves of comics and conservation. Parents will also appreciate his easy-to-read climate change explanations so children—and adults—can understand. I’m sure this workbook will inspire and entertain children while informing them about the environment, too.
