Author Biography

I am a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer who then worked an additional 27 years contracting for the Navy running IT Support contracts for Navy Training. I wrote my first novel almost by accident, doing research for our family history. I have several projects in the works and based upon how long the first book took to complete, you all might be dead before I complete another.

Chauncey's Blood: A Hiram Robinett Story of the Civil War by Curt J Robinette is a blend of historical, military, and romance genres, a tale that follows two young men from Chauncey, Ohio, as they respond to the President’s call to defend the country. These heroes are childhood friends and joining the cavalry sets them off on an unforgettable adventure. In this narrative, the author does an incredible job in writing their experiences, the exhilarating moments and the moments of despair, the thrills of battle and the dread of human mortality. The author digs into history and offers surprising facts about the war.

The story is seasoned with thrilling romance, an action-packed narrative with a well-researched setting, elaborately developed characters, and strong historical underpinnings. Curt J Robinette makes readers experience what it feels like to be at war and allows the emotions of his characters to reflect the turbulent atmosphere of the time. Hiram and Robert are real characters, exuberant in their youth and filled with excitement. I wanted to see them evolve through the narrative and this author didn’t fail. The writing is gorgeous, filled with vivid descriptions that capture the setting and the spirit of the time, focused scenes that allow readers glimpses into the minds of the characters, and dialogues that feel like real life. Chauncey's Blood: A Hiram Robinett Story of the Civil War is another gem for fans of Civil War literature and military tales. It is fast-paced and filled with action.

What a TOTALLY pleasant surprise to read this book! I was amazed that this talented author was able to figure out the details of what happened with Hiram and Robert, and how it might have all gone down. - While I already knew a lot about Robert, the way his story is written is compelling - and gripping! Hiram was a true hero, and his story left me sobbing. - This book is a real treasure and I highly recommend it!

I typed a review on amazon but don’t know if I did it right. The book was very good. I enjoyed the story and couldn’t wait to see what happened to these two brave young men. I’m from SE Ohio so my interest was more like reading about neighbors. Recommend this book highly
