Chic in France is a short contemporary novel written by Beate Boeker. Claire, driven by her love for her colleague, Jack, decides to travel to France and see why he likes French women so much. As was to be expected, once she arrives at their destination, Claire is also fascinated by the French way of life and ends up meeting a Frenchman, which will, without a doubt, change the nature of her trip. Readers with a thing for French culture will definitely enjoy this novel as it makes for a fun and easy reading experience. Chic in France is a romantic story which will make you want to travel the world, meet new people, experience new cultures and - why not? - fall in love with a stranger.

Beate Boeker made her story fun and her characters lovable and, even if short, Chic in France will surely capture anyone’s attention. Although people who are familiar with France and French culture might find a few discrepancies in the story, the characters and events have a lot of potential and I could even see it turned into full length novel. But whether or not the author decides to turn this story into a novel, her writing style is worth following and I am sure that her other books will give readers the same charming vibe as Chic in France.

If you are looking for a book that perfectly merges humor, romance and the beauty of foreign places, Chic in France could be just the choice for you; it’s charming and sweet – a lovely read for a beautiful summer's day.
