Terri Kelley, M.Ed, is the author of the series of Writing Is a Process books, many other children’s picture books, as well as of the chapter book series, Gingerly. She has also written over forty other picture books for children, most of which deal with relevant and timely social and relationship issues. Her passion for writing and reading began when she was a very young girl. She was raised in Copperas Cove, Texas where she grew up in the country with horses and lots of freedom to explore her environment. It was an idyllic childhood.
Terri is the mother of three. Her kids are all grown now and living happy and responsible lives of their own. Terri raised her kids in Granbury, TX and Tomball, TX. Both of these communities offered excellent schools and a country atmosphere that Terri enjoys. Terri still has ties to both towns as well as friends in both places.
As an adult, Terri has held a couple of different careers. Her first teaching job was with Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Houston, TX. Her next one was as a teacher and reading specialist in Tomball, TX. It was while she taught that she became aware of the kinds of books children enjoyed reading. She also noticed areas in need of good children’s books. You will find many of her books respond to these needs.
Terri is very happily married to her best friend, Michael. Together, they live in Oakridge, OR with their black Labrador, Oliver. Terri and Michael enjoy traveling together, fishing, going to the movies, and, of course, reading great books. They have many good friends with whom they enjoy spending time as well.

Christmas All Year is a children’s book that really captures the magic of the books I read as a child and brings back many happy memories of how wonderful and magical Christmas used to be. It is written perfectly by author Terri Kelley and combined with powerful illustrations by Milena Radeva that make it even more wonderful and whimsical. The book shows a beautiful little girl who just wishes that the spirit of Christmas would continue all year and she innocently (as children do) wonders why can’t it be so because it would be easy if each person just took small steps to continue Christmas. The artwork not only complemented the message of the children’s book, but something about the colors and the little girl’s expression was very heart-warming to look at. The pictures somehow just gave me a very fuzzy and happy feeling.
It made me so happy just reading the message of the book and looking at the pictures, which doesn’t happen that much when reading children’s books today. This is one of the best children's book I have read so far this year and I keep re-reading it over and over just to recapture the beautiful feelings it evokes. Also, just looking at the pictures gives me the same feelings. There is something really magical about this book. I highly highly recommend it to anyone with children or even people who love to read children’s book. It perfectly captured the essence of innocence, Christmas cheer, and a good message.
