Consuming Entities begins in the spring of 1057 AD in the Canyon of Mystic Waters. There were several springs in the canyon but only one was thought to have healing powers. The twenty acre valley was considered a place of peace, a place intertribal territory
Seventeen year old Tashobe was proud to stand watch. He was to quietly watch and report to his tribe, the Pawnee. His eyes kept straying to a young Indian girl. He was planning to make himself known to her the next day.

That night came thunder and lightning. The rain beat down and a bolt of lightning hit a red boulder hanging over the healing spring. The rock split in and half fell into the precious waters. A hot vapor rose off of the waters. The next morning Tashobe could see the visual changes in the healing spring. It was larger and deeper. The pilgrims came to the spring and all but one drank. All but one died. They burst into flames burning from the inside out. From then on it was known as Smoke Canyon, only the bravest Natives ventured into the area.

Jeannette Trudeau’s nude body was found, consumed by ash and fire. The report caught the eye of reporter Matthew Long or Tulsa, Oklahoma. He thought back to 1987 when he and a group of teens went to Smoke Canyon. They rode into Canyon on skittish horses. One horse drank from the spring where the spirit was said to live. They saw the remains of a charcoaled animal. That evening the storage shed and the horse were completely destroyed by fire.
When a sociopath discovers the secret of spontaneous combustion national security is threatened.

Cons Maxwell Lewis offers readers a story that will keep them eagerly turning the pages. The suspense builds to a fiery climax. The plot is riveting. I was quickly caught up in the plot. I read this book in one setting. I was afraid to put it down. The plot may seem a bit far out to some. But after pondering on it…who knows. There is so much man does not understand nor has he explored. The characters are will done. Fans of horror will not want to miss Consuming Entities by Cons Maxwell Lewis.
