Struggles with doubt and fear are natural, but it's easy to lose our perspective - and our faith - when we're overcome by worldly concerns. Sometimes, good testimony is a step in the right direction. Continued Miracles: Inspiring Testimonies of God at Work in the Lives of Everyday People gives powerful testimony of God's work in the lives of everyday people. Debra L. Stout shares inspiring stories of God's miraculous work in the lives of people in the areas of health, relationships, finances, spiritual struggle, and salvation of circumstances that should have, by rights, ended differently than they did. But instead of despair, these people found the Lord and stood in faith and hope that their lives could turn around, despite it all. They stood and claimed victory so they could move forward to help others struggling as they did.

I liked Continued Miracles: Inspiring Testimonies of God at Work in the Lives of Everyday People. It's a different kind of inspirational book that teaches mostly through the experiences of others, who show scripture at work in real life. I'm thankful that these people were willing to share their experiences to help others. I even felt the Lord speaking to my personal circumstances through the testimonies in this book. It did touch my spirit and confirmed my faith in great ways to see how God can help everybody who calls on Him. Debra L. Stout did a great job sharing these powerful stories in a way that's easy to relate to, and to see the miraculous work of the Spirit within them. A great, inspiring read for anybody in need of a word in season, and a wonderful testimony in the right direction.

Author Debra L. Stout has written a very inspiring book in Continued Miracles. It reflects personal testimonies and stories from various individuals in totally different walks of life that allow the reader to see the Hand of God become evident within their lives. This book not only shares each story, but it is designed to build readers' faith so they can rejoice in what has occurred within the lives of others as well as to seek these same types of events within their own lives.

Stout begins by explaining what a miracle is so the reader better understands the premise of the book. She then begins to share these miracles in story after story, and the reader can quickly become engaged and see how each person has a deep issue they are wrestling with in their life. Without a touch from God and a miracle happening within their life, that person is truly helpless and without hope. Following each story there is an opportunity for the reader to respond to what they have just read and answer challenging questions that help them to deepen their experience of the story.

There are various types of stories, some dealing with cancer, HIV, drugs, medical issues, angels offering protection, being alone without transportation or finances, and God bringing the right people into their situation to help in all areas. A story that especially spoke to me was in Chapter 5 - “Miracle on Spring Hollow Drive” - concerning finances of a home. The important part of this story to me was in how they had to hear from God and be obedient to what He asked them to do. Stout wraps up the book with “Seven Catalysts to Your Miracle,” allowing the reader to experience what she has shared in the stories previously read. This is a very encouraging and insightful book.
