Crimson Mercury Part 2: Invasion is a romantic science fiction novel by Kathrine Kautzman. The plot centers around Sid Katz, a young human woman who has recently married a beautiful alien male called Felix. Following an abduction and subsequent romance in book one of the series, Sid now wants to enjoy her new life with her supernatural man, but being married to an alien means that the rest of the universe is going to get in the way of her happily ever after. Wolfgang, Felix’s brother, is still in the picture for a start, and though he claims he doesn’t love Sid at all, destiny suggests that their paths will cross again during the invasion that’s on its way.
Kathrine Kautzman writes in a stream of consciousness style to give us Sid’s story, which won’t suit all readers, but does give you a full insight into her heightened and confused emotions as the whole world, and indeed the universe, erupts into chaos all around her. The alien invasion of the story acts as a backdrop to the rocky romance of Sid and Felix as newlyweds. Crimson Mercury Part 2: Invasion is a light romance with plenty of dialogue and enjoyably bizarre situations, and the portrayal of the handsome and perfect Felix versus his mysterious acerbic brother Wolfgang is sure to please love triangle fans everywhere. Overall, Crimson Mercury Part 2 was a fast-paced light read suitable for romance fans who want an interesting twist on the paranormal genre and plenty of HEA.
