There was a time when running through open fields and splashing in muddy puddles was a delightful afternoon pastime for a young child. A large tree that boasted supporting the wounded Revolutionary soldier, Lafayette, was enough to stimulate the creative imaginations of youngsters who passed this marvelous tree every day on their way to school, or just out riding their bikes. Life was simpler, sublime and peaceful in its simplicity. There was no strict timetable of sports practices, music or dance lessons, just simple play, simple pleasures: "...he runs through the fields and searches the sky/ to capture the joys of being a boy."

Dancing on Dewdrops: Rustic Poems, Prayers and Elegant Short Stories That Provide Inspiration, Comfort and Strength by Mark John Terranova shows that everything in life changes and that is clearly evident in the world outside which changes with the seasons: "...among the unseen mountains and gourds/ lay the dreams of a boy who has touched the soft, slumbering breezes/ of seasons gone by."

Life as a story, life is a reflection which can been seen through simple poems by author Mark John Terranova who presents the reader with an interesting potpourri of poems and stories, thoughtful insights into his life as a child, humorous anecdotes of his growing-up years, and finishing with a couple of children's fables, stories about pandas and butterflies to teach the young life's values and what is really important in life. There is passion in the poems that reflect on a child's life. There is also passion of a different sort, the passion of grief, that reflects on a life well lived but sadly over. This is a delightful collection of stories and poems that recall a lifetime when things were simpler.
