Dangerous Cargo: Book Three by Clark Selby follows two intrepid fighters as they set out to stop one of the top men of al-Qaeda from destroying the US. Al-Sadr is one of the people most wanted on the CIA’s list. Having failed in an earlier plot to bring America to its knees, he imagines something even bolder and more frightening — smuggling bio and chemical weapons into the US using containers from the Far East. CIA agent Tom Parker and Army Brigadier General Jack Hayes are out to stop Dr. al-Sadr who is not only evasive but cunning, and they are on a dangerous ride that takes them across continents. Will they be able to stop the terrorist in time to prevent the annihilation of the USA, and with Tom Parker falling in love, will anything be easy?

Dangerous Cargo is a mesmerizing terrorist thriller seasoned with sweet romance. Clark Selby infuses his writing with strong and resonant themes, creating conflict in a terrorist context that contemporary readers can relate to and romantic scenes that flow naturally. The international setting is well-crafted and readers are transported from one country to another as they follow the key characters in their pursuit of a dangerous criminal. Apart from Hayes and Parker, Jenny Lu is one of the sophisticated characters in this spellbinding tale. A woman who is not easily swayed and who quickly catches Tom's attention. The prose is excellent, crisp, and enticing. It is so intelligently written that it enhances the conflict. This novel is evocative because of the imminent threat directed against a nation. There is a lot in this thriller for readers — suspense, violence, and stellar characterization.

Tom Parker’s assignment from Director Ron Parsons is to find, capture or kill al-Sadr. Dr. Abu al-Sadr is an international terrorist. America does not check every single arriving container and al-Sadr plans to smuggle all kinds of weapons into America. Al-Sadr can deliver the ultimate blow to America if the Chechen fighters can steal an atomic bomb from Russia. Jack Hayes from Special Forces Unit will join Tom in the search for al-Sadr. Tom and Jack meet with Steve Troxler in Hong Kong and ask who they can talk to on Port Security. Steve set up a lunch meeting with Tom and Jack to meet Jenny Lu, Director of Port Security. Tom thinks Jenny is an extraordinary woman and wants to get to know her better. Tom and Jenny find love during their pursuit of al-Sadr in Dangerous Cargo: Book Three by Clark Selby.

I was intrigued by the plot of Dangerous Cargo by Clark Selby. There was so much happening that I never had a chance to wonder what will happen next. The story was fast-paced and full of action. The suspense had me turning the pages almost faster than I could read. All the twists and turns made the story very interesting and I couldn't guess what was going to transpire. The characters were well developed, and I could relate to them. Each character had their personality and skills to make the story a success. The shootouts were described in detail. It is wonderfully written and descriptive to the point that I could experience the feeling of being in Afghanistan and Hong Kong. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Dangerous Cargo is a work of fiction in the action, adventure, and suspense subgenres. It is best suited to the adult reading audience and is another excellent terrorist thriller novel from the pen of author Clark Selby, continuing his current series. As the villainous Dr. Al-Sadr becomes a prime target for the CIA after several attempts at the mass murder of US citizens, it’s time to bring out the big guns. CIA agent Tom Parker and Brigadier General Jack Hayes are set to the task when a horrendous plot to poison water supplies is uncovered. But Tom gets more than he bargained for on this mission as he meets the alluring and capable Jenny Lu.

Tensions are high in this next powerhouse of a novel from author Clark Selby, who never seems to run out of steam for original and exciting ideas. The more I read of this series, the more I get a flavor of how well-rounded and carefully crafted each character is, and how the different pairings and dynamics, both professional and romantic, come together and pit their might against some very dangerous foes indeed. Tom Parker is a superb leading man with a varied skill set and a fascinating history, and his meeting of minds with Jenny Lu develops into a thrilling potential for an unstoppable power couple that I’m certain will continue to feature after this adventure. As for the twisting plot with its many sinister surprises and deadly turns, it's just as exciting as ever, and as such, I’d recommend Dangerous Cargo enormously for action and thriller readers of all types.

The hunt continues as Tom Parker's mission to locate and neutralize al-Sadr takes him to Hong Kong. Here he uses his contacts in the Central Intelligence Agency and allies in the Hong Kong business scene to pinpoint his target's location. It will not be easy though as Al-Sadr has proven more than once that he is adept at evading capture even against supposedly insurmountable odds. This time his evil plot involves a biological agent that, when properly dispersed, will decimate the population of the United States. Time is of the essence in this game of the hunter and the hunted. Who will outsmart the other for the final time? Read more to find out in Clark Selby's Dangerous Cargo: Book Three.

Clark Selby brings his wealth of experience in espionage research to the fore in this book. His attention to detail in the Hong Kong business arena is quite impressive as well as realistic. The character development flows smoothly as it plays itself out admirably for both the principal characters as well as the secondary cast. The storyline is simple yet impressive, showing that it is part of a much larger story arc that spans several books. It's always a nice feeling following an intelligent villain and the romantic subplot is intriguing. Selby once again goes out of his way to show that he is in a completely different league when it comes to his novels. With Dangerous Cargo, he takes a simple story and transforms it into a stunningly detailed book.
