Is bath time a struggle in your household? Are you losing the battle to get your child clean? Then don't worry; David's Bathtime Adventure by Sue Wickstead will change that. A young boy named David loves all kinds of adventures, particularly involving splashing around in the water. One day, David's mum tells him it is time for a bath, and David couldn't be more excited and even says he's old enough to bathe himself. His mum runs the bath for him, and he gathers everything he needs to have the ultimate adventure. From flippers to a rubber ring, David has it all. Pick up a copy of this book to find out what adventures await him.

David's Bathtime Adventure was a fun read that children are going to love. The talented Sue Wickstead has taken a simple, everyday activity and made it into an entertaining story that will have kids hooked from the very first page. This is not just a story for entertainment purposes; I feel it could also prove useful in making bath time easier. Whether you struggle to get your child into the bath or out, David's Bathtime Adventure will be a great help for either situation. The illustrations by Jo Anne Davies are adorable and professional. I loved this story by Wickstead and hope to see more from her soon. Good luck with your next creation; I will keep an eye out for it.

Alexander and Nanny

Alexander certainly enjoys his bathtime fun too.
He has shared this story with Nanny as well as bathtime especially after we have made a mess.
Love bubble play too and as for the 'slippery soap' yep bathtime is fun.

lovely and colourful

This Children’s picture book is the second I have read in the David series. This book follows David as it is his bath time.

David finds his own way to make bath time fun and goes on his own adventure whilst his Mum keeps an eye.

This book is so cute, and it would help encourage kids that bath time can be fun with a little imagination.

The illustrations are lovely and bright, which helps when reading with children as I find it helps them to focus and discuss the book with you more.

Overall, a lovely and colourful Children’s picture book where David goes on an adventure at bath time.

My daughters thoughts: The artist was really good, I loved the pictures. The story was really good, and I could read it to Mummy.

Fun read

This is a story about a little boy called David, who we previously met during his ‘bin days’ adventure. This time we are joining him for his bath time adventure! The story reminded me of when I was little and would grab a load of toys to play with in the bath! Those were the days!

The story is quite funny in parts and reminds us adults how creative children can be. It is a great read for bedtime, the fact that David goes to sleep at the end of the story encourages children to also try and sleep when the story is over.

The illustrations are energetic and absolutely fantastic! This is one beautiful read.

we loved this

We love David and his vivid imagination; how much fun he had whilst enjoying his bath. Diving down through the bubbles to begin an adventure with his amazing frog shower cap that I am very jealous of, the illustration style of Sue Wicksteads book is a style that reminds me of my childhood added to fun stories that remind me of my own children and their bath time adventures that like David’s mum always end up with a sopping wet floor and more towels needed than children we have. How many toys can you find after the bath has finished when as a mum you finally get in and discover a dumper truck or dinosaur (my sons personal favourites) that has somehow managed to find its way in to my own bath.

Perfectly Charming

David’s Bathtime Adventure by Sue Wickstead is an absolutely delightful book for the under fives. It is perfect to read aloud at bedtime.
David’s Bathtime Adventure is a book that fires the imagination – bathtime is not just a time for baths but a time to play and let your imagination run wild. Each time David enters the bathroom, he brings something else water-based to play with and to change where he is going in his mind.
The whole book is beautifully illustrated. Each page is packed full of water-based images. All these are perfect starting points for discussions with our children.
David is a lively young boy who is easy to empathise with. Our children will be able to recognize themselves in him.
David’s Bathtime Adventure is a perfectly charming and beautiful addition to any young child’s library.
I received a free copy. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

bright, colourful picture book

This picture book will appeal to young readers, aged 4-8, who will absolutely recognise the bathtime scene. It will lend itself to sharing and discussion. The illustrations are bright and colourful and contain such a lot of details which the young reader will recognise. The test is clear and well set out, with sentences spaced out and clearly positioned. There is alo dialogue with the use of speech marks. This is a fun addition to Sue Wickstead's stories which are all so relatable for young children. There are also some varied ideas at the end of the book for opportunities to enable children to learn through water play.
Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book

A lovely story to share with the grandchildren.

My granddaughter absolutely loved this story. It is something she can relate to - the bubbles; the slippery soap; the bathtime imaginative play; the disappointment at having to get out; the warm towel that greets her when she finally gets out... As a parent, I can well remember supervising my children's bathtime adventures and sympathise with David's mother, knowing that she will have to clear up his watery mess before her day is done.

David's Bathtime Adventure made me smile in a 'Been there. Done That' kind of way. It is written in easily understandable language yet elegantly paints a picture of a child preparing for their playtime in the bath before bedtime.

A fun read

This is a really sweet and fun story about David. It's bathtime and his mum gets the bath ready for him, but David just wants to have an adventure, even if it means getting the floor a bit wet!

Full of colourful and bright illustrations I guarantee this is going to be a book children will love. It put a smile on my face whilst reading it.

Great story

My family have been fans of Sue's books since we read the first jayjay book and this one is just as good.

It follows David, who we met in the last book about bin day, as he is getting ready for a bath.

As is usual with children getting ready he has to take lots of things in with him and keeps getting out of the bath to collect things, and has great fun splashing around.

Both my daughters loved it and thought it was great, and my wife liked it because the way David acted is exactlyike our two do in the bath, especially with getting more water on the floor than in the actual bath.

Yet another great book from Sue, which we highly recommend.
