Demon Raider: The Death Stalker is a dark fantasy novel by author David Andrew Crawford, and the second book in the Dark Saga. The dragon-trained and vengeful warrior Dark seeks payback for the murder of his parents, and this tale picks up right where Dark Solus: An Assassin's Tale left off. Dark takes on a disguise as a jester to infiltrate a powerful guild where one of its leaders needs punishing, but the assassin soon finds that he is no longer alone on his one-man quest. A shadowy Elven race known as the Döckálfar seem intent on using Dark’s crusade to bring about their own glory, raising all kinds of havoc and dangerous beasts in tribute to the Shadow Lord, their idol.

The world-building of author David Andrew Crawford will impress even the most hardened fantasy fans, as this novel is packed to the hilt with forgotten lore, dark magic, incredible creatures, and the complex infrastructure of different magical races. Dark is a suitably intriguing and capable hero for the bloody and dangerous quest that awaits him, and the characters he encounters on his journey have their own charms and interesting backstories. Demon Raider: The Death Stalker takes readers through a sinister world during the ups and downs of its violent but also poignant plot, where even heroes make dark decisions and there is no clear cut line between good and evil. Overall, Demon Raider is an exceedingly well written and well described book sure to transport fantasy fans to an exciting new world.
