Whoa! That was my first thought after I finished reading Detour Paris, the first book in the Detour Paris series by author Jack Dancer. This book is smokin’ hot, and one you simply will not be able to put down. Follow the story of Tucker Blue, the sexy mid-life bachelor, as he hops from one dating experience to the next. He meets the gorgeous Monica Reyes while on an international vacation with his girlfriend, a flight attendant. Immediately intrigued with her, Tucker’s luck takes a positive turn when there is no room for him on the flight, his girlfriend jets off, and he convinces Monica to travel with him to take a first class passenger train through France to their destination. Their trip turns into a true adventure and provides them with lots of opportunities to get to know each other. Intimately.

Detour Paris was a great read. Once I picked it up, I simply could not put it down. Fun, exciting, funny and so, so sexy, this book will absolutely have you turning the pages throughout. Author Jack Dancer has a great skill at creating steamy characters and scenarios, a highly interesting plot, and an insight into the way men and women think about each other that is nothing if not honest. Any reader who loves an entertaining thrill ride of a read will love Detour Paris and I am pleased to recommend this book highly. I’m definitely excited to read the next installments in this series, and will be interested to see what author Jack Dancer has in store for us next.

Detour Paris is a racy romance book by author Jack Dancer, and the first book in the Detour Paris series. The tale begins with our central character Tucker, a man driven totally by lust and physical attraction to pretty much every woman he meets. At the story’s opening, he finds himself suddenly, violently captivated by one beauty in particular, Monica, just as he’s about to board an airplane. After some aggravation, this frequent flier finds himself bumped off the intended plane and boarding a flight to Paris instead to make his connecting flight. From here, the aforementioned detour leads Tucker and Monica into a passionate world where some unexpected thrills and dark twists threaten to thwart their burgeoning affair. So begins a light mystery thriller with plenty of bedroom moments between our leads.

For readers who can maintain the light hearted spirit of Detour Paris and its many plot twists, it will be a fun, fast paced read. There are plenty of erotic scenes to keep fans of that genre happy, and the story that takes place in between is always well described and full of action. The somewhat scatter-brained and sex obsessed Tucker Blue has plenty of banter and sharp dialogue that entertained me throughout the read, while Monica Reyes plays the femme fatale role in a charming, if somewhat idealised manner. Overall, Detour Paris was a well penned frolic with the right balance of plot and sexcapades, and will please an audience looking for a fun, casual story from the male point of view.

Detour Paris: Detour Paris Series Book 1 by Jack Dancer opens with Tucker in the company of his fiancée, waiting for a flight to Spain. Circumstances force a change in plans, and soon he is on a plane to Paris, followed further by a train journey to Spain. And the journey is made interesting by the interludes between him and a female passenger, Monica, which kept up a passionate magnetism between them. The journey became truly adventurous when a guy ended up crashing through the door to their compartment, holding some papers, which turned out later to be prize winning lottery tickets.

Detour Paris: Detour Paris Series Book 1 by Jack Dancer is a well crafted novel. The narration is also quite slick, inviting the reader’s involvement with the plot. The scenes of travel through air and land, and the tale that accompanies it, as well as the interaction between Tucker and Monica and their friends, are shown quite realistically and with necessary emotional intensity. However, I noticed two aspects deserving attention. This book does not show a structured plot, and assuming that the full series will have one, it would have been better if the reader is introduced to the plot in full or in part, especially since this is the first volume. Also, both the abstract dialogs and real time conversations overlap, leaving the reader in a quandary, with the intended emotional effect taking a back seat. However, there's good entertainment in this book.

Detour Paris, Book 1, dives right in with action and tension as Tucker Blue experiences a bit of fairy tale romance...only it's not with the girl he's dating at the time. Monica Reyes is a beauty, but it's her mind and sense of excitement that arrest Blue from the start. They engage in an interesting little affair, traipsing across Europe in the unintended titular Detour.

Jack Dancer writes in an uncommonly well-written first person present tense. While this tense has become more popular lately, I always find it quite jarring compared to the more traditional third person present tense. The benefits of present are that you feel as though you are experiencing the events right as they are happening, which really helped contribute to both the romantic and suspenseful sections of Detour Paris. Conversely, I did get sort of disoriented by the stream-of-consciousness pace and thought process of the main character. It was a good, trying experience that made you feel accomplished once you'd finished.

Plot-wise, I'm really exited to pick up Detour Paris in book two, which apparently continues right where book one left off. The pacing of book one was rapid and intense, moving from moment to moment with speed and not much time for reveling in thoughts or emotions. I don't recommend reading this on its own, as there are several threads that I desperately need to follow to make sure that the story ends how I want it to! (Or not, that's part of the greatness of this series!) Jack Dancer is a talented writer and I look forward to getting a chance to experience more of his work.

Holy Hot! I just finished reading Detour Paris, the first book in the Detour Paris series by author Jack Dancer, and I must say, if you are looking for a sexy, fun and exciting read, run, don't walk to get this book! Follow the story of Tucker Blue, a man who finds himself a bachelor once again during mid life. Already dating a pretty steamy stewardess, he meets the sexy Monica Reyes by chance during a layover. When he gets bumped from a flight that his stewardess girlfriend has to work, he takes a chance and asks Monica to take a first-class passenger train with him across France. Monica seems up for the adventure, and possibly a whole lot more.

Detour Paris is an incredibly promising start to a new series by an author I had not discovered before. Make no mistake, there are some hot and heavy sex scenes in this book, but there's a lot more as well. This is a fun adventure story, and a great descriptive read as well. Once I started reading Detour Paris, I kept reading right to the end. It was just that intriguing. As a male reader, it was an interesting twist to read a book like this from the male viewpoint. If you love a sexy read that's fun, funny at times, exciting and adventurous, then I tell you honestly that you will love Detour Paris. I am definitely planning on picking up the next books in the Detour Paris series by Jack Dancer as soon as possible and I am sure you will want to do exactly the same after you read this book!
