Author Biography

April Elliott Wilson has a long history of measuring and optimizing digital media for top brands. A technology enthusiast from grade school, she built her career around evangelizing using big data to grow customer engagement. She is currently serving as the Director of Analytic Products at RevSpring. Prior employers include TIAA-CREF, People’s Bank, Targetbase, The Dallas Morning News, and AH Belo. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Web Analytics Association and currently serves as a mentor in the Analysis Exchange program, which offers free analytics to not-for-profit companies as a teaching opportunity. She has also taught MBA courses for Southern Methodist University, Otterbein University, and Stanford.

Whether you are a new graduate looking forward to succeeding in business or someone who has been in the marketing business, here is a book that offers in-depth knowledge on marketing techniques, with an emphasis on SEO, brand marketing, digital analytics, SEM, social media marketing and a lot more. Marketing today is an area where professionals meet with cut-throat competition and, to rise above the teeming masses, one has to be equipped with cutting edge tools and winning strategies, and this book offers just that.

Digital Analytics 101: Your Shortcut to Marketing Analytics is well-crafted with images, screenshots, and a lot of illustrations. The book is composed for the average reader and a lot of marketing jargon seems to have been cut out for easy understanding. April Wilson comes across as an expert in the field and she seems to have done her homework pretty well. This isn't a book to read in a hurry. It would be more beneficial for readers to study the concepts and to try the tips offered here while monitoring results. Digital Analytics 101: Your Shortcut to Marketing Analytics is a comprehensive guide to online marketing, a gift to readers who want to get ahead in the marketing game. I am keenly considering some of the insights and tips generously offered in this book.
