Author Biography

Deleyna is the proud mother of 3 energetic children. She tends to collect additional children the way most people collect stray cats. Of late, she has the cats as well.

Her passion has been writing since she could hold a pencil. While that is a cliche', she is unique in that her first novel was written on gum wrappers. As a young woman, she learned to program and discovered that she has a talent for helping people and computers learn to work together and play nice. When she's not playing with her daughter, writing, or designing for the internet, she can be found wandering the local beaches.

Deleyna graduated from Santa Clara University with a BA in English/Creative Writing, a Minor in Anthropology and a Minor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Deleyna worked as a programmer, a pre-school teacher, a tour-guide, a planner and even as a NASA minion. She left the working world to follow her calling to motherhood, web design, and writing. She now owns a web design company that specializes in web development for authors.

Dominion of Darkness is a work of fiction in the epic fantasy, interpersonal drama, and adventure subgenres, and was penned by author Deleyna Marr. The work is intended for the general reading audience and contains no extreme content, but some mild threat and fantasy peril. Our protagonist is Elainya, whom we first meet when she catches the eye of a covetous king who attempts to put an end to her great love Drenil’s life. So when Elainya wakes up and suddenly discovers that eighty years have passed, the land she once knew has been vastly altered. What results is a highly engrossing tale of war, magic, and rising above grief that is sure to keep readers turning the pages from cover to cover.

Author Deleyna Marr has crafted a work of fiction that offers its readers as much emotional involvement and excitement in the character development as it does in its presentation of an incredible war-torn fantasy land on the brink of destruction. One of the most essential features to this work is the talent the author displays in worldbuilding, through such details as the folklore and ancient beliefs of the people, and the unique spin on darkness versus light which is crafted especially well and doesn’t rely on old tricks or tropes to stand on its own two feet. Elainya felt so real and present, integral to every scene she’s in, and her development was one that made you feel proud of a fictional figure, which is quite a feat. Overall, I would highly recommend Dominion of Darkness to fans of high fantasy with fantastic adventure moments, deeply resonant characters facing real emotional strife, and for readers of accomplished fantasy writing everywhere.
