Dotz Goes to Camp by Jason Bretzmann is a beautifully illustrated children's book about Dotz learning to make good decisions during his day to day activities. When Dotz gets the opportunity to go to soccer camp, he is determined to learn a lot about the sport and make wise decisions. However, as the camp day goes on, Dotz gets more distracted by his teammates and the jokes they make, and he stops listening to what his soccer coach is trying to tell the team. Dotz realizes that he didn't make a good decision by paying more attention to his teammates rather than his coach, and he is determined to do better next time he needs to make a decision!

Dotz Goes to Camp was an adorable read that was both entertaining and educational. The overall message about learning to make good decisions even when it is hard is something that every kid should learn as they grow older. The illustrations by Melanie Davis were vivid and cute, and they added so much to the story. Even though I am an adult, I still found this to be such an enjoyable read, and I must admit that I loved all of the pictures. Jason Bretzmann did a great job crafting a story that was fun but also had meaning and substance to it. Overall, this was a great read. I would recommend this book to parents who want to teach their kids valuable life lessons while reading a great story at the same time.
