Drafted to Serve: Pope John Paul II, a Saint Making Miracles Happen by Joseph Daniluk is a fascinating true story of a calling to serve God by planning for Pope John Paul II to visit Denver, Colorado in 1993. What the author and his friend did to prepare for the historic event was to take part in the ultimate plan, which required faith and perseverance. As entrepreneurs with a business sense, they arranged a lemonade stand for the World Youth Day VIII march of 30,000 people. This event and the way the Pope’s visit unfolded provided many opportunities to witness firsthand miracles. The divine intervention was apparent to both and Daniluk felt compelled to reveal this story twenty years later when the Catholic Church was in the process of trying to canonize the Pope. As part of the process, Daniluk related his adventurers to the Cardinal and has shared his charismatic story now with the world.

This insightful book reflects the hard work required to communicate a factual account and provide some entertainment in a reverent way to such a holy man, John Paul II, vessel of God. Mixed throughout twenty-two detailed chapters are personal adventurers, heartfelt drama, spiritual upliftment and the power of belief. Miracles happen every day, if you just look around. Drafted to Serve: Pope John Paul II, a Saint Making Miracles Happen by Joseph Daniluk is an awe-inspiring story of one man’s dedication to assist the Lord in the presence of his servant vessel. Whether you are a believer in miracles or not, this thought-provoking read will leave you breathless and wanting more.

Drafted To Serve: Pope John Paul II A Saint Making Miracles Happen by JD is a book with a powerful message. The author takes you along with him on the journey of his participation in all the activities that took place in his home town in 1993 when the Pope visited. Many events in this book can be looked upon as miracles and the author tells readers that if they ask for a miracle, it does happen. It also gives readers a positive feeling that miracles can happen in their lives too. Author JD reiterates the fact that God is always present in our lives. Join the author in his story where the Pope makes miracles happen.

The narrative style in the book makes readers feel that they are actually there witnessing the adventures and stories told by the author. The stories are descriptive, making them vivid and clear while one is reading. The author's experiences are indeed positive and uplifting; they lift the spirits of readers, giving them hope and joy. He tells readers that if they give an emergency call to God with hope and faith, He will definitely help. I found the book and the author's stories and adventures very fast paced and exciting. I am sure the second part will also be equally motivational and inspirational. The author leaves it to readers to interpret and decide for themselves if they find miracles in the stories or not.

Drafted To Serve: Pope John Paul II A Saint - Making Miracles Happen, by Joseph Daniluk, is a narration of the miraculous events leading to, during and after Pope John Paul 's visit to Denver, Colorado, USA and how these events touched and changed the lives of ordinary folks who decided to serve during the visit. After hearing about the Pope's intended visit to Denver for World Youth Day, two old time partners met up to discuss how they could earn some income out of the opportunities presented by the papal visit. Little did they know that this was going to be the best decision they ever made, a decision that would change their lives forever, not just financially, but spiritually. In his book Drafted To Serve, Joseph Daniluk, gives a detailed account of this miraculous journey.

Drafted To Serve is an inspiring true story from a man whose life was so incredibly touched and completely changed by the Pope's visit. Joseph Daniluk’s obvious admiration for and belief in the Pope and his work in serving humanity is very apparent throughout the book. Reading this book reminded me of when the Pope visited my country, Uganda, Africa in February 1993. I was only 13 years old at the time, but I can vividly remember the near hysterical feeling and mood of jubilation that engulfed the entire country from the time his visit was announced. This goes to show how deeply His Holiness Pope John Paul II touched the lives of ordinary people wherever he went.
